Welcome to the new Deputy Don "Keepin' it REAL" website.

That's right! No more D.A.R.E. as we remember it.

D.A.R.E. has transitioned to the 'Keepin' it REAL" curriculum for elementary, middle and high schools beginning the Fall of 2012.

This NEW elementary curriculum will now be taught to 1.6 million elementary school students enrolled in D.A.R.E. Those numbers do not include the International D.A.R.E. Program where millions of other students will be receiving the new curriculum.

"Keepin' it REAL", is the new name and it's offered by D.A.R.E.

So where is this NEW program being taught in El Paso County?

The "Keepin' it REAL" program is currently being taught at Palmer Lake Elementary, Watson, Janitell and Sproul Junior High Schools. There are approximately 750 students participating in the program every school year and several thousands of students in the county who have the added safety, classroom instruction, and mentorship of a law enforcement officer in their school.

The NEW "Keepin' it REAL" program and D.A.R.E. are law enforcement programs that works in partnership with students, schools, and parents. Please continue to visit this website for the most up to date drug and risky behaviors updates.

In addition, you'll also be able to find all the current updates for D.A.R.E. events and special activities right here on this website. Graduates, graduates to be, familes and friends are always invited to participate in these events. Just remember to check the special events page often.

We have to work together to keep our children safe, and like anything of value and importance..... it COST. Thank you for visiting, and please continue to support D.A.R.E. by either volunteering with TEAM D.A.R.E. or joing us during the many fundraisers throughout the year!
